BELGIUM in EXILE PREVENTS the GERMANS from CONVERTING MONEY – 5 & 10 NEW FRANCS WWII LIBERATION BANK NOTES

A monetary conversion program was instituted in October of 1944 conceived by the Belgian Government in Exile. In essence it made all high value notes non-convertible, and threw in some devaluation to boot, so any Germans schlepping home gazillions of ill-gotten Belgian Francs would end up with nothing. Featured here are the 5 & 10 Belgian Francs notes of Liberation, which remained in circulation until 1947.
