CONFEDERATE STATES of AMERICA BOND DEPOSIT FORM of LONDON for $19,000 in 1883

When the American Civil War ended, the Confederate States of America ceased to exist. This left some countries holding worthless bonds. Here is an example of the British Bondholder Committee Deposit Form which was to pool all of the outstanding Confederate Bonds purchased by England in an attempt to collect on them. Bondholders would deposit their bonds into an account with this form and were given a Scrip Certificate in exchange.

Not a single payment was made on the bonds as the Confederacy was defeated and the U.S.A. refused honoring payments for the defeated separatist movement.

Quality as Pictured. Guaranteed Genuine.
