WORLD WAR II NAZI OCCUPATION of SERBIA 100 & 1000 DINARA BANK NOTES of 1941

Part of what is today’s Serbia was occupied during the war by the Wehrmacht, from 1941 to 1944. What was not in that zone was instead controlled by German allies, such as the Ustashi (Croatia), Hungary, Bulgaria and Italy. In May 1941, the Serbian National Bank hurriedly introduced notes, with the 100 and 1000 Dinara notes overprinted.

Due to the scarcity of watermarked paper during the war, different error positions are seen for the woman’s head in the watermark.

100 Dinara – Woman with sword, Alexander I Watermark Overprinted – 4.95

500 Dinara – Woman with sword, Alexander I watermark Overprinted – 7.95
