Military Payment Certificates (also known as MPC), was a currency used to pay U.S. military personnel in certain foreign lands, from 1946 until 1973 – Presented here are selections from 10 different series. MPC’s were an outgrowth of Allied Military Currency, referred to as AMC’s plus Military Currency which are also featured in sets and singles from Austria, France, Germany, Italy & Japan. These were created by the US for use by their service personnel after WWII to stabilize local economies of the war torn nations.
