CHERRY TREE RUN & OIL CREEK OIL COMPANY (VENANGO COUNTY, PENSSYLVANIA) CERTIFIES that WILIAM H. WICKHAM is ENTITLED to 18,000 (EIGHTEEN THOUSAND) SHARES (also shown in red ink the guilloche with the word shares) on the right with central vignette showing oil well, tanks and related equipment. Each side bears a 25¢ Internal Revenue stamp (Power of Atty) with circular (treasurer) William Hacker, front dated April 25 & back June 2, 1865. Also with muted embossed company seal to the left of the treasurer’s signature. This same William Hull Wickham became the Mayor of New York City in 1875 and signed the reverse on the certificate (measures approximately 12 x 7 inches and has folds along with a narrow 1/8th” strip of white tape on the upper reverse side.)
