Description
HIGH DENOMINATIONS ISSUED ITALY ALLIED MILITARY CURRENCY
Traditionally, overseas military personnel were paid in local money rather than their ‘home’ currency as the effect of a strong hard money like the US Dollar alongside a weaker local currency would be devastating. So, special ‘Allied military money’ was created and paid to the soldiers at a fixed rate of exchange and declared as legal tender.
