Description

NON LEGAL TENDER NAZI BANK NOTES of 1937 – ONLY 2 DENOMINATIONS EVER ISSUED; 1 & 2 RENTENMARK

Unlike the USA which has always used the Dollar, countries that have experienced wild inflation have had a variety of names for their money like Germany with the Mark, the Reichsbanknote, back to the Mark, the Rentenmark, the Reichsmark and again back to the Mark.

The Rentenmark was first issued in 1924 to combat the ‘barrelful of money for bread loaf’ inflation that Germany was experiencing as a result of losing World War I. This particular money was never legal tend, but served until after World War II. In 1937 only 2 values were created to alleviate the need for metal coinage, which could be diverted for military use, the One & Two Rentenmark.

1 Rentenmark – 2.95

2 Rentenmark – 2.95

Set of Two – 4.95
